There is no doubt that social networking sites are becoming more popular by the day. But you can convert this popularity into cold hard cash?

The answer is Yes, as long as you go about it the right way. the key thing to remember is that each site works a little differently, so it is important that you familiarize yourself with each of them before you start using it.  Every so often put a link to your site in your tweets or posts to send your readers there.  Don’t over do it though as you don’t want your readers to think that the only reason you are connecting is to make money from them.

But if you have a website or blog that you want to promote, this is definitely the way that you should go to do it – for free.

So where to start?The first thing to keep in mind is that you can make money directly from social media sites. If you read through the rules of each one that you’ll notice that they frown on touting directly for business this way.

But that doesn’t stop to find people on these sites, which fits with the customer profile and encouraging them to visit your website.All these sites allow you to submit your Web address – most of them also provide a space to put him in particular – and if you take the time to build a profile and a presence on each site you will soon start seeing some traffic to your website.

The trick to attract the right kind of people is to build your profile to reflect what your site is all about.So, if your website is focused on selling DVDS for example, you could position itself as a DVD freak that collects all kinds of different titles. This would attract the kind of people who will be more likely to buy DVD effectively themselves.Get the idea? all you have to do is make sure can buy DVDS from your website, if you post yourself or did you simply loads of affiliate links, which lead to websites that will make you a Commission every time someone buys something.

It may take time to build a decent sequel on social networking sites, but there is no doubt that it’s worth it if you do it right is more responsive than a lot of paid advertising that could be done online, and you also have much more control over it.

But before you go and sign up for MySpace, Twitter and everything else, check out the ads on the side column.  One of them might get you started along the right path to making money on the Internet.  Twitter and Facebook are where I have had great success.  Beware of the rules though as they can suspend an account you have been working on for months.  It has happened to me too many times and I have learned not to be too aggressive and promise them thgat if they reopen the account you will abide by the rules.
